STORYLINE: The earth has been shattered. A war against China destroyed everything. the earths population has been reduced to 10,000. The weapons that destroyed the earth where made by the united states to completely wipe out china. It was a biological weapon, and the chemicals used expanded unexpectedly, and exploded. Only the central united states is still in one piece, and has been building outward. The U.S. has tried to take weapons, and has quarantined cities into small sections. You must become an assasin. Kill the people that want to go against you. Shoot now, Never ask questions.

really, you shouldn't post a thread until you have at least 5 screenies. It's just good. instead of rushing a screenie out to show before lock, instead, work on your game, then, when you get some spare time, make a WIP thread.

Bugsy raised a very good point, it's really beneficial to get work done on the game, significant work, before posting about it. For example, if we know you're really passionate about the project, that can resonate and make us passionate about it! I'm interested to see what you'll have though

GJ it looks as if you're at as much fault as he is with carrying the argument into others' threads and name calling

Hador your one screenshot looks a little empty and not too great. You will want to up the lightmapquality or something like that to get rid of the lighting showing polies on the wall. It ruins the look on models and segments so you should fix it. Just saying while there is only one screen theres not much to comment on but you might want to reconsider your design. The segment dosn't look good with those models and they look out of place, detracting from the flow of the shot. Consider using walls that would most likely be used in a house (I'd say most houses have bricks on the outside walls rather than on the inside) also use a different texture for your floor and ceiling. Keep it up!

ALSO those walls aren't seamless so you might just want to rid your game of them altogether.

it is supossed to look empty. it is meant to give you the feel that everyone has died out, and you have nothing left, not even the basics of life. the first screen is the living room, second is on top of the building, third is in the kitchen.

Well, there is lots more trashy segments and entities out there. If everyone have died out, that doesen't mean that all the objects in the room have gone. There is a lot of games wich have the style. But looks ok.

the third screen is of the kitchen, and it would be a good place to put a table, the second is showing what is left outside, basicaly, everything you have in this period of time, is worthless when you are being killed by people randomly because you could posibly use suplies they want.

So where have all the objects gone? They don't just magically disappear when everyone dies. I think you've taken the "emptyness" to the extreme. Rooms shouldn't be completely void of objects.

You want to creat a dark and dingy atmosphere but at the moment I'm not feeling it. It's too light and the rooms are too big and square. Lower your ambience, create a very light fog, find some trashy entities - (rubbish/broken glass/rubble) and decorate the environment.

In the second shot your boundary is too obvious, download the free model pack
model pack 36 and use the buildings in it to create a more realistic street. Also, if the world had suddenly died out, the streets would be littered with all sorts of junk - old cars, rusting benches, dead trees etc.

You could make a very atmospheric game if you just put more time into decorating it. At the moment it just looks bland.

I'm gonna add a few cars, and add some fog to bock out what is beyond, but no more than that. I am changing the story a little, so everything will work out in the end.

The first screen is alright, you've added a bit of detail. The following two screens look very empty, not in an abandoned way, just a sort of undesigned way. If this is the aftermath of a global scale war, everything would look much more decrepid and run down, not bare. Design your environments to resemble modern buildings and layouts, then age textures and knock things over to make it look abandoned.

The "boundary" that butt monkey is talking about isn't the "gameplay" boundary showing where you can go in the game. He means the world boundary. You have a wall with obviously nothing outside of it. You need to place buildings and such outside the quarantined zone to imply that there are areas of the city you can't get to, and that you aren't simply floating in space, which it currently looks like.

If I were you, I would put some buildings behind that wall. As Butt Monkey said, the boundary is too obvous. You are a hamster in a cage ok, but there still is something outside the walls. And I would lower the ambience to a very low number. At least lower. And then you should put a big static light acting as a sun for you and the in the inside add some otehr lights. When all people died did tehy take everything they had with them? Seriously, this is pretty bland. The story is nice, but you should work on your design more.

there will be tons of junk, and I was thinking about putting some buildings out there. I do have a static sun light out there. but the house will be clean. it is actually an outpost for some people you are hunting down.

yeah, I accidentally had the ambience too high. and that was the highest lightmaping quality.

does anyone want to continue this project? will give you all fpms. the only media it uses is the model pack 36, the bonanza packs, and some EAI store items that I remember. and no strings attached

just not enough time to do this.
