Well if you can't tell from the title, this is a little thread on my first model I've made. It took me about 2 hours total, mostly just moving textures around.
I just got Blender and Google Sketch-Up today and started playing around with them. I made an attic ladder because I haven't seen one in any of model packs and I need one. First I was wondering what you guys think, and I was wondering where a good thread on making 3D objects into entities =) anyways... here it is. The HD PNG screenie is attached.

I also would love some tips on how to make good models for FPSC and maybe someone can answer my nub questions

Well I was wondering, are Direct "x" objects the only type of models that FPSC supports? If you don't apply shading to the textures of an object before putting it in game, will it look weird? How do I export the textures I used in Sketch-Up so it'll be just one file? I noticed most of the entities had directories to single files for their texture.

Note: I am completely new to modeling, but I am have used The Gimp (like PS) and I've redone alot of textures while modding games, and I am a code-monkey =). Btw why doesn't the FPSC scripting language not support user-defined variables? =(

~To mod... or not to mod? That is the question...

I only can answer a few questions. First of all, .x is the only type fpsc supports. you don't have to apply shading. And final, you need to uvmap your model to get the textures in one file. You should look for some good tutorials.
Hope I helped

Thanks VENT, and yeah... I've been going through threads all morning, and I actually have it in game and working =) But it's only using 1 texture. I found an Xporter for Google Sketch-Up in another thread, and I am gonna use UVMapper Classic. Does anyone know where a good segment tutorial is? Becuase I am not sure how to make one...
