Thanks for the comments

Like I placed at the end of the first post, anyone that wishes to contribute to this pack is free to send me the media they want to contribute to it. Media that I would like donated would mainly include music and voice sets, but any type of media is really acceptable. When I finish all my work for the pack, it will be released for free along with all that donated media.

Why free??? some wonder, I believe that most times people deserve to get more for their dollar, euro, yen, or whatever currency you use.

Good news guys, I have been hard at work on a few things and I will not leave you with nothing. I have been spending a while trying to figure out the secret of the almighty DirectX exporter in blender and believe I have solved it. The problems with this is that I will not be able to give default animations and end up making my own, which is probably the best, and it will take longer to get this pack out.

first of all, Merry Christmas to all that celebrate it and Happy Holidays to all that don't.

Second, My gift to you is Part 1 of the Post-Apocalypse Pack
http://www.mediafire.com/file/dmlmmtqmgmk/postapocpt1.zip

Third, The characters I wanted to put in this pack will not be FPSC Ready. I will make the characters, but they will be extra files (similar to what Cosmic Prophet does with his pack)

Great stuff
Download link is not working?

I only have one thing to add;
Textures could use some more work, but since its characters and whatnot, It is still an awesome contribution to the forums
So I'll make my own textures and use them in my next project i think

Mediafire is back up and people can download again.

I don't mind retextures of the models, if you could be kind enough post the retextures here in this thread to share with everyone else.

The characters will be a extra thing, unanimated, untextured, and available in a few formats

happy holidays, and a happy new year to all

If you mean a gun from Fallout 3, then I'd like to see the Alien Blaster or the 10mm pistol.

That is good, but the handle seems to cave in, which isn't too good. Try making it puff out just a bit.

Sorry for not getting back to this sooner.

@Metal Devil123, I sent you a reply

@Coach Shogun, i puffed it out a bit, the only reason it looked like that was because it was 2 triangles by each other on a flat surface.

Finally, I have been getting it animated and placed into FPSC. Here is what I have so far for the texture.

The gun is way too dark and too rusty. You should make it more realistic.Try the metal tutorial on www.henrysfps.com,its great.

Charger bandit, I appreciate the help, but I use Paint.net which doesn't have some of the tools that Photoshop has or GIMP has. I have GIMP, but I do not use it. Main reason is because it crashes itself on load up.

Here is a retexture, you will find it more pleasing than the one before.

That wall mounted computer terminal with animated keyboard is superb - it's perfect except for one thing.

I was unable to correctly load the file in Ultimate Unwrap 3D, Milkshape or Fragmotion. In every single app it came out looking distorted or corrupted. Either the joint was skewed, the keyboard was yawing widely or the animation didn't look right.

Is it possible to get an original copy of this computer terminal in a format like .ms3d or .u3d? I am trying to retexture it to look ten times better with baked in ambient occlusion and a whole new surface shader.

The best game to work on is the one you enjoy playing the most.

Sorry everyone for not continuing this sooner. I am presenting a small Part 2 pack for this. I couldn't really do much of late because of the contest, real life, and planing for the future.

First off, a special thanks to MetalDevil for the amazing Post-Apocalyptic HUD's included in this pack.

Here is a Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/file/zmxjmht1hze/postapoc2.zip

And here is a picture showing everything I have included in part 2.

Contents:
A metal Desk
A Night Stand
A Server Unit
A External HardDrive
A Picture Frame
A 2nd computer
A intercom that is very closely resembling the one in Fallout 3.
First Aid kit
A Cart that is used with the First Aid Kit

thanks dark peanut. I have some good news to announce.

I just cracked the bone rig code for Blender and had made a small example for it. Then I thought, let's go bigger and I am starting work on a complete blender made character for this pack. When I get a tutorial up for characters, I will be giving out a complete, animated bone rig with basic animations.

not yet, The animations will start going through fine tuning and then there is a script that I will have to make and fine tune just so the ghoul will be the best it can be. Let's not forget the texture will be fine tuned too. When this character is as perfect as I can get it, it will be up for download.

...Walks off to play Fallout 3 to get notes that will make the animations awesome...

The meshes are mine, I did not rip them from Fallout 3. Fallout 3 is the backbone of this pack, because the pack is a post-apocalyptic pack. The only thing I have that is post-apocalyptic is Fallout 3 for PS3. I just use fallout 3 as a reference and no more. Besides I have no why of actually ripping models from games, nor do I ever plan on doing it. Being a internet Pirate = JAIL + Fines + Lawsuits

Here is a comparison of the fallout 3 ghoul and my ghoul.

They can be used for commercial games, because (I can't stretch it much further than this) The models are not from fallout 3 and the textures are not ripped from fallout 3 in part or whole.

Summary:
The fact that they look similar means nothing as long as they remain my own creation.

If you need an example, take a look at bond1's cyblob for X10. It was based off the Doom 3 fat zombie and although similar to Doom 3 fat zombie, it is bond1's own creation and there for not part of Doom 3.

Yes. In terms of video games, you can't copyright a gun; you can copyright gun files or names, but you can't copyright the gun itself.

And about the pack, I loved Fallout 3. I really want to see that 10mm in action. Not the most powerful gun (obviously) but I think it was the nicest-looking. There were some cool bug guns, like th gatling laser, but those were too overpowered looking. THe 10mm was a great design, not too big, and I really like it. So keep up the good work!

it was the best song in the world..."
