Hi guys this might not be new to you.But for those who don't here is a simple trick to fake grate shadows in your games.

By adding a illuminationmap to normal textures and having a source for the grate you can fake the grate shadows by using illuminationmap.fx shader...

It's not really complicated and your illuminationmap can come in any shape and size and with some uvmapping you could extend to other segment even walls if you want I'm sure you could even do entities

It looks like this

Note this only works in X9 I have no reason to believe this will work in X10

Was really by accident.Would have to add will only work with white light any other colours would have to be added to the _D2 texture and transparent to allow the original texture underneath to show.

As far as I know illuminationmapping only works with a black and white map by changing the white colour it may or may not work have not been tested...

But I'm sure to add any extra info here

great work man but not new that what that shader is use for. plus it does work for entities. as shader 1.0 great for things like this.
