i heard about a program that did that but i forgot the name.and i can't buy stuff online after that little ebay incident lol. any advice?

i read the tutorial above but that program dosen't run on xp .it opens and closes.

LordSorcre, A map file?, as in the map file generated by 3D editors like Hammer for BSP. If thats the case, just goto http://collective.valve-erc.com/index.php?go=mhlt and download ZHLT 2.5.3 custom build. It's fully documented but you can also load a map file into Hammer or QuArk and build the file into a BSP. DBPro does not support loading .MAP files directly, so you will need to either convert the file, or build it into a BSP.

i just said it dosen't run on xp. the dos thing opens and then it closses in 1 second. and i forgot how to execute a file from dos

Well err, have you tried using the Hammer editor to load and then compile your MAP file instead of trying to run the BSP compiler directly, for all I know, it could be that your WAD files aren't accessed correctly.

I can't suggest any more since I don't use and will not intend on using XP

Hammer, GTK radiant, quoole... any BSP editor should load them.
