Story:
Level 1
Welcome to Kustenstadt! Its November 3rd 2023. there is a breaking story about something big happening near your ran down apartment building. The city hall was badly damaged by a terrorist bombing as well as several other targets including three points in the cities defensive walls. Many people were retaliating against the brutal grip of the corrupt police force. Most people called them the KCPD. You have been waiting for this day for a long time. Before now it was very difficult to get in and out of the “safe haven” known as the city of Kustenstadt. Now that people were attacking buildings and other services the cities EES systems had overridden most of the KCPD's locks and are now evacuating people through trains and other means of transportation. All you had to do was get on one of these trains and make you escape to the northern city of Город.

I think you need to get rid of thpse logos there because I see a Windows logo.

My only criticism is to have more visible light sources, darker coloured lights, and add a bunch of grunge on the floor. I mean, it's like an apocolypse, right?

cheers

Awesome! Extinction is back! This is looking top-quality as ever man, and I've always loved that skybox, it fits your theme and atmosphere so perfectly. Your new building models look quite impressive as well, keep it up man I'm looking forward to seeing more of this for sure

Cheers

i thought id get at least 4 comments from other users.
is my game honestly that crappy? that unoriginal? not worth a moment of your time?

anyway i have decided to use only media i have made. it'll take a little while to put together but the quality will be consistent. and make this game a little more original. i may even decide to release some of it. today i have made 15 models fpsc ready. 5 buildings, 5 signs with 3 textures, and some vending machines. i will also use the metro theater shaders once i get my hands on them.

The screenshots look good, but you could improve your entity placement. It's a completely destroyed city, right?
Rubble everywhere, rubbish on the floor, maybe even some houses are destroyed and so on.
The screenshots just look too tidy...

The project has potential. Just improve your entity placement a bit.

Best,
TheK

EDIT:
Please think about to change the names of the cities. "Küstenstadt" and "Город" aren't so imaginative. "Город" is "city" in Russian.

@ metal devil 123
i like your choice in music!

@ All
I have been working on the technical side of my game so there isn't much worth reporting except that you will all enjoy playing this game. (i hope) Ive also been working on another game that is completely unrelated to FPSC or the FPS genre. This on top of other things are keeping me very busy so updates are going to be coming slowly. I just wanted to let you all know that im still working on this game.

As for the issue with graphics and entity placement iv'e decided to restart my maps and started doing new high detail models and segments. most will be exclusive to this game to give it an original feel. i'm currently revamping the mp3 industrial roof. something that in my opinion is long overdue. anyway heres a screen of a few commercial buildings. i am still working on making good looking ruins. progress is good. and thats all i have to say.

thanks

time to get some opinions
what do you think of this paused menu? when you hit pause the screen darkens and you get these four lovely options. should the text be smaller? should it be offset? whats your thoughts. resolution of the screen is 1440 X 900. ill have a new pointer soon

That's an awesome pause screen man, the lettering looks superb and the concept is fantastic. The only things I could suggest are perhaps, making the background a little more blurry, and having the words Load, Save, Quit and Resume just a little bit smaller than Paused. Otherwise it's a great start

Looking forward to more progress on the game.

Cheers

I would make teh text smaller. And yes, the background blurry, so that the game looks blurry beneath.

Heres a screen to spark a little bit of interest. FPSC is SLOWLY becoming something usable now that i have rewritten almost everything that third party programs have done poorly.

this is a WIP screen meaning i don't have everything i have made for my game in FPSC yet.

your game is amazing, and I understand how you feel about not getting your much deserved comments.

the curbs make the map look city-ish, the buildings are obviously custom, and they are definately beautiful. I must say to add a car or something else there, as it is, it almost looks unfinished or rushed. a car, having a complex model structure would give the basic level some much needed detail.

secondly, refrain from using white lights. those lights look too white, choose a colour of the light to fit the music in the level, and create a mood. with the mood should be the lighting, and to make the lighting deeper, use segment colours that fit with it.

use white lights only if the segment is strongly enough in one colour for it to still look atmospheric.

14 hours is not a long time. People surprisingly go to school and work. There are people from various time zones on the forum, so just because you are awake doesn't mean others will be.

The screen looks good. My only concern is that your trash looks very carefully places and is far too neat. You should try just spreading stuff across the area and THEN tweaking their positions etc.

Also your bag of rubbish is floating. Looking good though.

Not trying to offend you, but please say stuff like that. It's pretty immature and very annoying.

Thank you for your comments Bugsy and butt monkey. Its kinda frustrating to try and make something new and get no response. 9 comments in one month isn't as fast as i thought id get feedback.

As for cars i have five different models each with 4 texture variants on the go. I gave another forum member the chance to get some practice in by doing some of those textures for me but it doesn't seem like hes going to do em. three days without a response. well see i guess.

Heres a new screenshot of the same area. i plan to have a rusty car in the parking lot as well once its done. its the same one i released only with a better texture. Ill be working on interior areas for now though. the sun no longer shines at white but at a tint of 8a0ffff.

@Bugsy and butt monkey
you can expect a present in your inbox for brightening my day. thanks
EDIT ill need an email though butt monkey lol

@all others
I need your crit if the community responds to my game i will respond to it with media for download.

I will now begin working on better indoor areas. i want every corner of this game to shine.

Looks much better. With the rusted car added it should look really good. Can I suggest dropping that bin in the centre onto its side? All the bins are upright at the moment and it might be nice to have some variety.

you may want to add lights shining through those windows, because they are extremely bright as it is. darn dynamic entities!

otherwise, that area shows some real improvement.

I might try blocking the road off another way, or not getting the big wall in the pic. no one wants to be confined, so try to use as many natural barriers in your world as possible. (cars parked buses stopped) and make sure to make the way you are supposed to go look more interesting than where you are not supposed to be.

oh boy! a present! I'm excited now!

you truly do an amazing job of creating a "city" environment, a place I really need to work in my next game/games. you have some great city media, making this game not look like just another MP36 city game. bravo!

Just because the your OS won't boot it doesn't mean that all is lost. There is a good chance your harddrive will be unaffected (don't quote me on that). Take your computer down to a PC repair shop or somewhere like PC world. They will be able to remove your harddrive and add it to one of their systems. You will then be able to get to your files.
