Cyglo 2

Story
"March 3rd:
Today some train stopped,lights broke and a power-failure for 2 minutes. I couldn't access the doors for two hours. This place is freaking me out soon."

"March 5th:
I hear rumors every day. Yesterday I heard a rumor that we are training for when Earth is invaded by aliens. Likely that will happen.

I have heard the name Cyglo 1 many times. Is there really a base called Cyglo 1"

"March 7th: Today I visited "Cyglo 1" with Arnold. Yeah it's really a base called Cyglo 1. It lays below Cyglo 2. All we needed to do was find the ladder that leads to "Cyglo 1". The whole place was abandoned. I think I saw something moving in the water."

"March 8th:
Today some trains stopped, again!
Its a wonder this place hasn't shut down yet.

Enter the world of William Roberts, the marine, a marine at the base Cyglo 2(Cyglo = Chris.Yuri.George.Lisa.Otto, the founders of Cyglo). Follow the William on the workingday when all went terribly wrong from when he gets to work.



This is a story about survival and the terrible incident




Background: I just got the game Half-Life and wanted to make a game like that. I wrote the story on a piece of paper, and then started to play games to get inspiration for the level design. I wrote down all the levels on a paper before making it on the computer. I played more games to get ideas, like the fallen bed scene, that I have seen in many other games, like a game called "Alpha Prime".

its called Cyglo 2 because its the name of a base... Cyglo 1 is above 2

Love the concept but, cant really say anything about the level design since you only posted 1 screenshot.
Though its a pretty good level design. I would suggest try to lower the ambience light a bit down, just a bit.

And maybe go for some rustic metal textures for the wall. Or at least something to cover up the rocky wall.
Maybe even just some metal plates still with the rocky wall coming out of it.
So it looks a bit broken/deserted.

Also, thats a good thing! I used to do that myself, play other games, look at screenshots or follow stories of other games while playing or just reading it for some ideas in modeling, story and level design.

Looking forward to see more.

Metal Devil is right, you need to place some lightsources.
Also try to fill the empty places with some entities.

Just some small props like crates, barrels or rubble.

Nice screens. Are those barrels needed to be dynamic. They's propably do just fine static, but this is still nice work!

NO problem I myself try to keep stuff static, if I have places where I don't want player to go, so that they can't stack the dynamic entities on top of eachother and get over stuff. But this is nice

Story: This story starts in the end of the 1980,1989 to be exact. A top secret project called "Cyglo 1" was in progress. The purpose of the project was to make special drugs to make you live about 200 years longer . The experiment became larger. More and more scientists and doctors started to work there. In early 1990 a huge facillity named "Cyglo 1" (after the project) was complete. Now even large companies sponsored the Cyglo project. The project became more and more dangerous. Even the founders (Chris Yuri George Lisa Otto) wanted to leave the facillity. The drug was planned to relese in 1997, but it never did. First they tested the drug on difrent kind of animals. Some of them died, the others mutated to freaks and was dissipated by the guards. The project stood still for a while.

One worker, Dr.C Lambert wanted to contiue, and even inject it on a human. The others where against him.

One night it was enough for Dr.Lambert. He sneaked in the lab and injected himself. His roommate, Dr. Hubertsen heard that Lambert did go up, so he followed him to the labratory. But it was too late. Dr. Lambert has injected himself.

firsty nothing happend. About 5 minutes later he mutated. Hubertsen saw when he transformed to that hideous beast. Lamberts mutation mutated Hubertsen, in fact everybody he was near, mutated. Soon the facillity was full of mutants.

On the government order, the facillity closed. Very soon the facillity,the project was forgotten. The lucky survivors (some of the guards and the founders) tried to forget the events at the facillity.

In 2002,the "Cyglo 2 project" was planned. It was that soldiers would colonize the planet Mars. The project was named "Cyglo 2" because it had the same founders.

In 2003 the government raffled soldiers to work on Cyglo 2. One of them was William Roberts,the person you play. The base Cyglo 2 was comlete. Cyglo 2 was one layer over Cyglo 1.

2004 you begin your work. It's just been a few weeks when Everything gets wrong...

The level design looks good but I'd spend some more work on the lighting and the light sources. Although I'm far from an expert here at FPSC forum, I know that the most important thing if you want your game to look good is the lightning. No matter how great your level design is it's gonna look like crap without proper lightning.

I like the Half-Life games and I'm very intrested to see what you can come up with. Keep it up dude!
