In case you're wondering, England 2 Macedonia 1 ... the last 3 minutes of time wasting really rattled the opposition, I thought they were going to have a fight at the end.

What next ... aha, Italy vs Sheep land (Wales) ... now this will be fun.

they burnt our flag!

lol, anyway it was suprising, near the beginning it looked like we'd lose miserably. And Rooney, fancy that eh? Youngest guy to score for england now.

very lol @ last 3 minutes

Rooney was a surprise. Though as always beckham's penalty was a blinder. Too fast to save.

I was worried at the end beckham could have been sent off for all that toying with the macedonians

Is it just me or does anybody else find the transitions between replays and live match in the wales match a bit dizzying?

he could have gotten thumped twice, first time that tackle and second time at the end of the game, the other guy desperately wanted a fight and beckham was laughing at him. I didn't see the flag burning, did they show it live? I know there was quite a lot of racist abuse towards the black players ... weird considering they got a mixed player in their team (some brazillian/macedonian guy?).

I don`t have any interest or knowledge about football but maybe the Macedonian supporters where trying to start a fight since that would have got England banned from playing, thats my theory, the press made enough noise about the possibility of England being banned if there was trouble, if some devout Macedonian supporters could incite the UK supporters to start fighting then the UK team would have been out and Macedonia would have been back in most likely, thats my theory on a subject I know nothing about anyway .

well, the english fans where told not to turn up, and wasnt sold tickets. obviously there were a few who got them on *the black market*, so no way could they blame england at all .

anyway, the flag burning was shown live on tv, near the beginning before the match (the national anthem bit )

I was willing to give the macedonians a chance but obviously not.

I too foresaw them win 2-1. It's england style.

What will be arough match will be the turkey one - last meeting there were riots and before that some leeds suporters were stabbed.

I think we'll get to the quarters / semis then go out 2-1 to either france, italy or spain.

We'll see about that. And enough girly Beckham jokes. It's getting a bit boring.

And the italian national side isn't the least-'dandiest' I've seen

Not the best England performance under Erikson by a long shot but it got the job done.
As for all this complaining about England fans going there when they werent supposed to, I personally wish that a few more England fans had got tickets, so there would have been enough to sort those flag burning commies out.
After all, the more trouble the hooligans cause overseas, the less time theyll spend causing trouble at the premiership matches.

Italians are weak, they're not as stromng as they were 4 years ago ... heck if you even saw the confederates cup, you might have noticed the mighty Brazil giving a very shabby performance.
