try making chairs and boxes and stuff first, then a little more complex, and then move to weapons, and then characters. wings 3D is really good.

A wooden crate. Download Blender. As soon as you open it, you're already done

Anyways I would go with wings 3d, its easier than blender.

marksman, start like i did, with entities, simple stuff, no uvmap, just easy. There are some great tuts out there! Like the great GJ said, hold up!! Start easy, use wings3d or milkshape or something

Use a free modeling program, follow some tutorials.
And begin easy, also download a free image editor for textures.

Follow some tutorials for the textures.

Begin with some static entities like furniture.
After you can handle that, head over to some more complicated entities.

Eventually you can do some characters and/or guns.

you can download the free 30 day trail of 3Ds max "pretty much the best out there when it comes to modeling" at autodesk.com
