Every sprite I put in the game has half the resolution it should have. Why is this?

I see why you have told me to do this, because the sprite looks like it is stretched (the picels are 2 or 4 times bigger than they actually are) but the sprite is the same size.

DarkBASIC has given me a real smack on the head and I'm really confuzzled.

The only way I can get an image to show with the correctly sized pixels is by loading it as a bitmap... but that defeats the object of having a sprite.

I thought that you load an image, say a bmp, then grab a portion of it as a sprite - I don't do too much 2d but I haven't seen this problem. Are you somehow grabbing an area that exceeds the original bmp size (if that's possible) It seems that it would be the only way for the image to be 1/2 resolution. Almost like zooming in 2x if you get me?

I think you missed the point. The second integer tells DB to use the bitmap as it is, without trying to create Mipmaps for different distances and resolutions.

No need for a code snippet, I've found out some vital information that I hope someone will help me with:

On everybody's games, the sprites are strange looking... they look like they are stretched, but they're not, if you know what I mean.

It must be a problem with my graphics card - how do I fix it? (Also, on Max Payne (nothing to do with DB), the graphic novel pictures are all blurry too... what the hell can I do?

It is not anything to do with the screen resolution, my graphics card is showing sprites in all darkbasic projects and some other comercial games "stretched". How can I set up my graphics card to work properlly?
