I have a scripting question as im kind of new to scripts in fpsc, (but familiar with dbpro) i searched the forum and found mods like wizmod and project green.

If i like to make changes in fpsc such as for instance a 3rd person view, do i have to rewrite the fpsc source code script or is it enought just writing a FPI scrpit and add it to the scriptbank folder? any tip?

in the official project green tread plystire said:

I want to make it clear that 3rd person is not a feature, it is simply an effect created through scripting.

thank you!

To answer this personally...

For Project Green or Project Blue, there is no quick solution to getting third person or player legs, unless you use a script that someone has written for them (scripted for use with project green or project blue). You may need to make your own script for them.

The reason that they are not features of the Mods is because my aim with the Mod was not to make a command for everything. My aim was to make script commands that allowed you to script anything you wanted, without me having to make a new feature for everything.

When I was creating my Mod, I realized very quickly that not everyone wanted the same features, but everyone wanted something. Even the people who wanted the same features, didn't always want them to act the same way. So, instead of making everyone's features exactly the way they wanted them... I went a different way, and made new script commands that would let people script their own "features".

Thus, "third person" and "player legs" are not features of Project Green or Project Blue... they are scripts using the Mod's new script commands, and nothing more.

Because of this route that I took, I did not need to make special commands for vehicles, security cameras, third person, player legs, player armor, player money, tractor beams, zombie barriers, ammo pooling, ammo control, player lives control, gravity guns, super powers, water, bloom, motion blur, black and white, movie grain, negative coloring, edge detection..... uhhhhh.... lost my train of thought.... flash lights, binoculars, remote controlled robots, devices that remove/restore gravity from/to objects placed on them, bullet reflection, health absorption, having different guns induce different effects on enemies when shot..... I think we get the picture by now. None of the things I just listed are features of Project Green or Project Blue... but you CAN DO THEM with those Mods, through scripting!

If I had made specific commands for every one of those "desires"... I don't want to imagine how many scripting commands would exist within the Mod, and it still wouldn't be as powerful as it is right now. Since I have given the power to the scripters... so many more things are possible, I don't even know what all it's capable of. Which is the beauty of it all!!! I absolutely love it when people do things with the Mod that I had not thought possible!

Sure, it's a little difficult to get into scripting, but once you do... so many more things are possible for you.
