Newcomers DBPro Corner / DBPro doesn't ask for the activation key when I upgrade

Sorry to be a total noob, but I followed the "How to upgrade Dark Basic Pro" web pages. Downloaded the upgrade, ran it, did the "Acivate for CD" thing, but when I started DBP it didn't ask for the activation key and is still v 1.4 (I think) when I click "Help"> "About".

Is there something I didn't do?

I don't think it asks for the activation key until you try to compile something.

Normally the version number will read something like 1.067, and 1.074 for the updated version (7.4 update)
