[X9] Undertow
----------
*Why another project?, don't you already have 2 in progress already?
Contrary to popular belief, "Dead Man's cradle" and "H20" both ended up being finished as mini projects (3 level games), and were added to my I.T portfolio. Although unfortunately, neither of these finished mini projects made it to the forum, due to I suffered a complete HDD faliure not so long ago, and consequently, lost everything. I therefore left the threads as they were, so appologies for you not being able to play them.

*Okay..So what exactly is 'Undertow'?
Unlike previously, I had always stuck with the modernday horror genre, and as such, had always struggled with inspiration. It only then recently hit me (whilst watching Alien)...why not combine two of my favourite elements...Bioshock & Alien. This is (mercy street now guys) my first attempt at the sci-fi orientated genre, so it may be quite different to what your usually accustomed to seeing from me.

*So what features/enviroments can we expect from Undertow
Well, the enviroments will alter from tiled, flooded restrooms, to the dark gloomy corridoors of an abandoned deep sea submarine. Features wise, you can expect all the usual shaders, lighting (of a different style this time) etc, aswel as fully functional bullet time.

*Are there any WIP shots of this project?
I shall currently upload 2 very early WIP shots for you guys to look at, although I'm going to be keeping some scenes etc under wraps until a later date (I don't want to give too much away).

Feedback welcome

I like it. It looks different than your other work, but is still extremely nice. Good luck with this.

I like the new screens COZ. They look lovely.
I just would like to point out that an arcade game
for the Xbox 360 is also named Undertow. I don't know if
you already knew this or not... but I just thought I'd throw
that up there.

Best wishes.

Silent Depths

Looks great! But judging be the screens it doesnt look like an underwater submarine yet. But I guess its just because of the screenshots.

Your lightning is just awesome and I must say that fully functional bullet time sounds pretty intresting. I'm a fan of both Aliens and Bioshock so I'll be intrested to see what you can accomplish by mixing these two products.

And also a little off topic mabye but gotta ask Cyborg ART what happend to Silent Depths? Did it ever get released?

It's a default script which comes with Project Blue (although most people who own the mod tend to miss the Extras folder out, including all the great scripts inside it. The script basically uses the timeflow command which literally allows you to set the game speed to whatever you want. I'm not sure if CoZ is using the same script, but one does come with Project Blue. For those of you who are interested, here is the script:

Now, back ontopic. It's looking great as always CoZ...the blue lighting on that monitor looks awesome

Now THAT looks good. I'm really liking the nice shadows that that grate makes. Definately looking forward to playing this (bullet-time!! )

I dance in tune with what I fear to do adrenaline.

Marc Steene: I think s4real or Ply wouldnt like the script being posted here. The script is extra when you buy PBUM.Now people can use it in Project Green...

Looks awesome like all of your projects.

The screenshots looks nice. Just some polishing will make it.
The only thing is, that the textures on some custom stuff are a bit low-res.

Best,

@TheK: Thanks, considering this is my first attempt ever at the sci-fi genre, I don't think I'm doing too badly (If I can say so myself)

Quote: "that the textures on some custom stuff are a bit low-res."

Correct, although the reason I'm not going "high res" on everything is because I make very heavy use of custom shaders, and the balance between complex shaders, and slightly lower res textures on some entities will keep the performance smooth, even on low end machines. It's more of a performance thing than just me being lazy.

Thanks for the kind words all! Here is a new WIP shot for you to look at. As a side note, all shaders in this shot are custom (they are subtle so you can't really see them in a still shot)

It looks really nice. I like your custom stuff, CoZ!
You should take the text "COMM STATION" on the texture of that wall.

I agree with TheK. The tesxt would propably look nicer if part of the wall. But that doesen't bother me so much. But is that a light without a source in front of it? It might be just me, or is it a non-sourced ligth. But it looks awesome as always! I am really waiting for this. I agree with Arctek. You and Wolf... the best of FPSC Games.

@Metal Devil123: Iv'e just removed the decal since I now agree that it looks better without. As for the lightsource, I must of moved it from it's position by accident....thanks for pointing that out (Will fix it now)
