I have Windows 7, I've tried re-installing it, letting it through my firewall and trying it with the XP and Vista compatibility packs. Can someone please tell me a suggestion to fix this.

the (scant) Win7 compatability thread is HERE

the bottom line is:
Quote: "
* Needs to be run in Administator mode.
1. Right click on program icon
2. Click on the compatibility tab
3. Under Privilage Level, place a tick next to Run this program as an Administrator.
4. Click OK.

** Needs Direct X 9.0c updated

1. Click here for the Microsoft Direct X updater.
2. Run downloaded exe and run through on screen instructions.
"

the vista thread has a variety of approaches that might help as well.

as a reminder, you need to install the latest DirectX 9.0c for DBPro to work. people tend to think that since they have vista/win7 and dx10(+) on their systems then it's good to go, but you still need dx9.0c (which installs alongside later versions).

otherwise, you state it "won't open"; what exactly is it saying/doing, etc?

The first time I tried to open it after I installed it, it tells me that I need to run as administrator. I try that, and then it doesn't open at all. It doesn't have an error screen or anything like that. I double-click, then nothing. Thanks for the forum reference though.

Also, I have another problem. On the forum http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=160615&b=1
it tells you to install DirectX 9.0, but when I downloaded it then extracted it, it tells me that it only updates it and since I have DX 11, it doesn't do anything. Can anyone help?

Download the latest version of the editor found in this thread until the next release of DBP.

Sorry for the very long delay. With John Y, when you said download the version of the editor, I thought you meant of DBpro. I now know it's synergy editor. Just so you know, it works really well.
