I am working with trying to get reflections in Unity3d and it needs a cubemap which I know nothing about them really
Anyways I tried to save this texture with the Nvidia .dds plugin as a cubemap, but it says this, word for word:
"need six images side by side and width equal height"
What does that mean and how to do it?

It's very easy with the MS DX9 SDK utility DxTex.exe.

You might be better off asking this in 3D chat.
