I have a couple ideas for you, EAI. They need the model pack 10 hands :p. You can put them in the TGC store.

A flashlight

A field scope

A modern crossbow

A claymore

A compass

Thanks!

You need to cut back on the topics you post. You are seriously spamming threads dude.

@Lewis: And you're spamming his threads

@Sven: What makes you think Jake would suddenly want to stop his current project and make some more modern day weapons (which he hasn't done in a while) especially for you? Unless you're willing to pay extra, or he fancies making some more for the public..

Yeah, EAI's not going to stop and say "oh, he wants it... I should make it."

He's working on other stuff. Go shoot him an email if you want to ask him something, don't post it here.

Then email EAI. Ask him directly. Don't ask us about it.

@Astro Chickster,

Your point being? He needs to see that he could of kept his questions IN ONE TOPIC instead of flooding the forums with unneeded individual topics and bumping everyones topics down.

But I do take bribes/lobby money

I do requests sometimes (sort of) but the lag time between the request and the release is usually so great that the cause/effect can be hard to recognise. P90 was a request. So was the Vz61 Skorpion, G36C and Chainsaw. The SCAR is in process of being torn-down and remapped, polished and prepped for release because I get a distracting amount of requests/emails about it. TF341 is partially spawned from general requests of modern military chars. and specific requests for Marines.

In reality I have a massive list of things I want to make but I like to work slowly (because I can) and so I'll only ever bring to release less than 1% of that list. The list has no set ordering and priority changes all of the time. Sometimes a request can help nudge me if I am debating between which thing to make.

Regarding the things listed here...

Flashlight: I've talked numerous times why I haven't made a normal flashlight (and made LEDs instead). The mechanics of a proper flashlight are largely incompatable with how FPSC functions and that annoys me. However, I'll likely suck it up and make one because it is so often requested. Then people can email me complaining it doesn't work like they think it should.

Binos: I totally want to do this and it's been near the top of my list for some time now but it's almost never requested. It would probably also be a melee weapon. I guess the problem is that there's so many different kinds/styles of those things.

Crossbow: I honestly am not compelled to make a bow weapon (of any kind) which uses FPSC raycasting. It's just dumb. And I can't use the flak system because they explode (OK I guess if your name is John Rambo). If PBUM or Fenix gets scriptable, direct-damage flak (for the sake of ballistic drop gameplay), I WILL be compelled to do all sorts of bow/thrown weapons.

Claymore: Like the flashlight; another thing which I don't feel the available systems/mechanics in FPSC could pull off properly. So I haven't given it serious thought.

Compass: See above. A working compass could be pretty sweet and could be achievable with PBUM but I don't think the R&D time would be worth the return because it would be nothing but a useless handprop for anyone not using the mod and I don't think a traditional compass would even work properly (realistically) if used in 99% of the environments users create in FPSC.

Anyhow, I just wanted to set the record straight that I do consider all requests and in-fact use them to help me prioritize things. If just one person requests something it probably isn't going to happen unless it's something I wanted to do anyhow. It also depends on if it's something I can pull off in FPSC to my personal satisfaction. If people want to email me requests, that's fine. Don't expect a reply though. I usually just make a mental note when I get those kinds of emails. And for the love of all things great and small, don't instruct me to credit you for the "idea".

The compass you can do in fenix mod. The claymore, you need the model and use
as the script.

@freak of nature

That is not appropriate for a claymore, because it is not a remote detonation device, it is a mine that is tripped when someone enters the 'detonation zone'.

Claymores can be detonated in a variety of ways, depending on firing device, TerrorNation.

FM 23-23. Better?

The point being; claymores are command/remote operated, by default.
