Alright, I've been watching tons of videos and I have collected tons of different techniques and styles for modeling and texturing, and I am now looking for a modeling program. Here are the programs I'm leaning towards

Hexagon - Good painting tools and organics

Silo - Awesome organics

So far these are all I know, I can't afford Maya or Max, and ZBrush is to high-poly for anything I would need. If you have any other offordable modeling programs that has a painting tool similar to Hexagon(thats one of the main things I'm looking for after I found BodyPaint) please point it out.

The most common (and affordable) programs that FPSC users work with are Blender, Milkshape, Google Sketchup, Fragmotion, GIMP, and paint.net (I'm sure I'm forgetting a few others). Blender has a sculpting tool similar to Zbrush (but not as advanced), and Blender is free.

EDIT: There really isn't a "best" choice out of those programs because all of them get the job done, and different users here prefer one over the other. I can tell you that out of those three modeling programs, Blender is more advanced than Milkshape, which is more advanced than Sketchup. GIMP and Paint.net are about the same, and Fragmotion is great for animating, but some users prefer using Milkshape for animation.

Yeah I have Blender and I'm pretty good at it, I just wanted a more advanced program, and Hexagon and Silo both look fantastic, but Kraven I think I'm gonna work with bledner a little more, I'm gonna start making models for people as like a freelance (i hope) and then maybe I'll buy Hexagon.

Once you get used to Blender, there won't be any reason to pay $150.00 for Hexagon. What exactly do you want from Hexagon that Blender can't do?

In Hexagon I've seen paint tools that paint directly on the 3d object, Hexagon looks familiar to blender in many ways in the modeling aspect, but in UV Mapping and texturing, as well as combining textures and colors, Hexagon has Blender beat, and I was looking at BodyPaint and Deep Paint 3D why pay almost $1000 dollars for them when I can have a modeler and a painter for $150.

I suggest trying to balance ease of use with affordability. If you are new to modeling I suggest milkshape 3d, paint.net, and uv mapper.

If your not on the edge your taking up to much room!!!!!!!

You can actually do all of those things with Blender. And it has one of the best UV mappers that I've ever used, so I'm not really sure what Hexagon has specifically that has Blender beat Modeler, animator, UV Mapper, sculpter/painter, engine, etc. But like I said before, not everyone thinks one program is better than the other. And I'm sure Hexagon would get the job done.

I use 3ds max myself but it's a big price tag, just for fpsc work.

I used to not reccomend that but I have been playing with it lately and I must say I like it a LOT more than I used to.

Wings 3d is great, my favorite at the moment.

Hmm, I did not know that bledner could paint textures onto the objects. Could you show me what you mean? I would like to see an example.

fragmotion can paint 3d from a picture or color pallet, personally I use anim8or to model fragmotion to texture and animate two very easy programs though anim8or sucks by comparison to blender but its what I know.

I find the interface easy actually, a lot of people think that the interface is hard to learn but I had no difficulty with it, maybe that will help.
