Mmmmm reminds me of Canalyst, story, tut, entity placement, light sources and such.
A good start, yet try to find some originality to throw into the game. Make it special and unique so it'll stand out.
So some advice from me:
-Work on originality
-Improve entity placement (especially light sources)
Another thing, that may highly boost your level design, is to to plan your game. A good order of doing this is the following:
-Idea
-Visualizing/Reference
-Sketching/Reference
-Blocking In
-Texturing (if you plan on doing custom textures) - 1st pass
-Detailing (entity placement) - 1st pass
-Detailing (entity placement) - 2nd pass
-Texturing (if you plan on doing custom textures) - 2nd pass
-Lights (includes lights, and light sources) - 1st pass
-Detailing & Texturing Final
-Lights - 2nd pass and final
-Final test and Tweaking (Releasing demos could help with this)
-Release (So your final game download)
Anyways luck to you with this. Mmmm maybe I'll release a quick tut on level design. It may help many people out.
EDIT: lol I begain a thread like a said a would.
