ok, heres what i know so far, when my friends computer starts up, its all black, and it stays black, his mouse is huge he says, probably in a different screen size setting, but i'd really like to help him, hes coming to my house now, as i type, so anyone wanna help him? plz plz help him.

Set the screen size first - that might help.

This happened to me once.

go into safe mode, by repeatedly pressing F8 when he boots up. Then change screen and cursor. Then re-start in regular windows.

the thing is, he starts up, and it stays in black screen, and doesnt even go to the desktop, all he can do is move the mouse.

Did he install I new video card when his original one was embeded in the mother board?

Happened to me, black screen, just switch the monitor plug to the new video cards port and it should work.

what did he do before it went bunky? (new proggy's, updates, deleted stuff etc)
