This is a fully animated bird with 3 scripts that I worked on for the past couple of days.

The 3 scripts work as follows:
script 1: Player gets close, bird flys on a waypoint tell player is far enough away.

Script 2: Player gets close, bird flys off to never be seen again.

Script 3: Player gets to close, bird attacks, chases player and attack again until it loses the player.

*Edit* Forgot to mention that it can be used for both commercial and non-commercial games. credit is not required but will be appreciated.

We must think alike. I felt that FPSC was void of Birds and then I decided to try out what I learned for making Characters in blender. It was originally going to be a crow, but I just decided to call it a bird instead.

Thanks for the comments guys

Gamer X, that is very good work. Things like this are what are needed to give levels that extra "shine". Appreciate this and all the work you put into making these available.

Cheers

the only problem I am having with your new bird is when it flys it has walking sounds, i then take out all sound options for this bird but it still has walking sounds.

@ Daniel

Check the FPE file. The soundset is set to male. Perhaps removing that would help.

Cheers

Weird. I placed the bird, right-click for properties, and removed "Male" from the soundset. Worked for me.

Edit: Ok, I heard the "step" sound when I applied the crow3.fpi script. Perhaps it's to "simulate" a flapping sound.

Cheers

Sorry about the soundset, I am not good with making audio files and there for the bird does not have a set soundset. The reason for the male soundset is that I copied a fpe file for one of the test characters I made with blender to test my biped skeleton animations, which was a male.

If someone is kind enough to make one, It will be very appreciated.

EDIT: @Daniel wright 2311, try deleting the .dbo and .bin file and see if that does anything.

I did and I still have the sound, im not shure why, ive looked at the .fpi script and there is nothing in there either. so im not shure why but it would be nice to have this bird in my game.

The bird works great. If you assign the crow3.fpi and approach it, the bird turns and attacks you. That's when you hear the "footsteps" I never heard the footsteps on the other assigned scripts. Either way, this is great Gamer X. Will fit in quite nicely.

I figured out the problem with the sounds. It is the sounds of the segments when walked upon. I will try and figured out a way around it.

**EDIT** The best way to overcome the sound would be to have a different sound play while they are moving.

example:

add sound=(path to a birdflap sound file) to the script during the movement phase.

I did that with our scripts. Works like a charm.

Great minds think alike

What do you all say about a critters pack being my next pack after my post-apocalypse pack is finished?

The pack will have a bunch of animals such as pigs, bears, assortment of wild cats, rabbits, and many different critters.

And thanks all for the comments.

I agree with Metal Devil. Some assortment of animals is missing from the archives of various model packs and such. Items like these really help to polish a level atmosphere.
