Fall Out City is set in a ruined city with you as the last human survivor. Your only mission is to reach the final rescue train. The gameplay therefore is to survive and move quickly whilst locating a key which will allow you into the final compound to reach the train.
At the moment it only contains hundreds of spiders but will also have zombies.
The design objective was to create a massive level below 50 megabytes.

Enough said, here are the images to download and if anyone shows any interest I will post the demo at it's present stage.

Note:The machine used to build the game is a low level pc with 100mb video card so don't be put off by the low frame rate during the test game process. The final build game running alone achieves 24 to 30 frames even on the same low level pc.

Here is the demo
Had to use a new zip utility as winzip wont work
Remember you need a key to get through the final compound door!
tip: look for someone before you that failed to reach the door
They might have the key
good luck

Cool. Reminds me of that one TV show on The History Channel called, Life After People. Keep up the good work!

Did exactly that as fpsc refuses to recognize the zip size

Remember you need to find a key to enter the compound and reach the rescue train!

I found it very annoying that the spiders where constantly respawning.

The final version of this level will have the spiders drop in from a damaged building rather than just appear but the spawning stays.
I think we've all got a little too used to linear games where you see the enemy right off, deal with them and then move forward at top speed. Spawning enemies keep you on your toes.

You'll maybe have noticed that the toxic waste sheds that some of the spiders crawl out of emerge into up to three different parts of the level allowing me to use the same spider enemy three times and with a limited spawn life thus saving on too many entities.

The spiders are fast and incredibly strong but I like that.

The one life with only a hundred health is more than enough for any decent gamer to reach the train with at least quarter health and around 50 bullets left over.

If you find the spider spawn annoying the zombie level under construction will really annoy you as based on the theory that zombies are already dead you can't kill them just avoid them.
Having to complete a mission with zombies stalking you is creepy especially if you go down a dead end alley.

I know there's a way to embed pictures in this page but I can't remember it so here's a bigger screenshot from the game.
