I don't quite understand what you are asking. Maybe tell us where in the tutorial you are stuck and we can help you. Just to make sure I will read through the tutorial again, but I saw nothing on a pick.

I was not able to find Psionic's ref pic in the tutorial, but this pic might help you. Also the tutorial is using an older milkshape and it would go alot faster using the hotkeys. I hope this helps, but try next time to google for a ref pic. I am glad to see you are willing to learn to model. Sometimes you will need to find a similar pic to use as a ref or just use the rendered pic at the bottom of the tutorial.
