Ok, herres what I need to do.

So that the upper body of my character can be moved I need to make my characters out of 2 pieces - and upper body and a lower body. The upper body is everything above the waistline and both pieces are single meshes, bone animated. I need to set one of these pieces as a limb (probably the upper one) so that it can be pointed in different directions. This is similar to the tecnique used by Q3 arena, but im unsure on how to go about constructing the model. I use Milkshape3d and CharacterFX and I wondered if anyone could help me with the procedure of putting the models together and putting them into DBPro.

Cheers.

If I were you i would make the model as one. Animate just the legs running, walking, strafing. animate the whole thing for falling over etc.

Then write a function in dbpro to move the limbs of the arms and head - ive done this and it doen't mess up or affect the animations you have pre made. This way you can move the aim of the character relative to mouse/other input movement.

Really? Youve actually managed a 3rd person mouselook without any problems, using a single mesh model??? Please, please, please send me some code or something, im dying to see how it works. And I'll be your slave for a day. Or maybe I wont. If you cant manage the above could you give me a much more detailed explanation as I think many users could benefit from knowing this.

Cheers.
