FPSC Classic Models and Media / texture size question

so i have been working on a couple of models and i was wondering is it OK if i use 1024*1024 texture size for entity's?

For good results you can use 256x256 , 512x512 , 1024x1024 , 2048x2048.
Anything above may start to cause a few problems with slow down in the FPSC engine but can be used.

One thing to remember when creating textures for your game is try to keep all objects the same uv resolution size compared to object size. Say if you have a large table with a 512x512 texture then you have a can of soda on the table that uses a 512x512 texture, the resolution difference will be very much noticeable.

If your are starting to texture a model you created it's considered good practice to start all of your textures at a higher resolution than you intend to use on the finish model, for example if you wanted your finished model's texture size to be 1024 x 1024 then my starting texture size would be 2048 x 2048 or higher. the main reason is a larger texture holds more detail than a lower resolution texture and if you shrink a 2048 x 2048 texture down to a 1024 x 1024 texture it looks better and tends to look more detailed then if you started at 1024 x 1024 to begin with, and you don't ever want to size up, meaning go from a 512 x 512 to a 1024 x 1024 your texture will look pixilated and you will lose detail.

Proper UV Mapping also plays a part in the end resolution.
