Try making a sphere in a modeling program such as 3D Canvas, scale to size and export using .x

you have to have your texture seamless ...make it yourself or find one. Seamless means that when you place texture tilles nex to each other you cant see where is border between them ...texture flows smoothly from one edge to another...

Down with skyspheres, Skyboxes forever!

1: Download a copy of Terragen
2: Generate a scene and set the camera ratio and zoom to 1.0
3: Take 6 shots (North,South,East,West,Up & Down)
4: Make 6 planes in DBPro & Texture them with the above
5: Set texture filtering off on all of your planes
6: Texture your planes and arrange them in a box

Et voila! Seamless skybox with only 12 polygons

Even better...Make a cube,smooth it once,apply a Spherical Mapping and a seamless texture.

Et voila le travail.

Sorry I explained badly...

I meant outside DB,make a Cube,Meshsmooth it,Apply a Spherical UVWMap to it and a seamless or a polar texture.

Yeah that's nice alternative for sky sphere, I myself don't like using skysphere at all.. Unless I have like 10000x10000 resolution texture on it
