Like the title says, does anyone know a tool that can aid me in creating sprites. (under the condition that it's freeware and not ms-paint)

features I would like:
- pallete support (a color change in the pallete gets reflected in the sprite)
- tiling support
- small preview
etc.

"Photosuite. Google Photosuite."

Thats what my Bro just said.......

I thought Pro motion(even just the trial!) was pretty good too.

Pro Motion is pretty good for this stuff, for traditional and strict sprite editing it's one of the best options I think. The palette works just how you want.

pro motion seems to be what I'm looking for.

Does anyone know any other programs that do about the same?

I miss good old Deluxe Paint 4 and 5 on the Amiga That was brilliant at that sort of stuff. The PC/ DOS version was quite rubbish though.
