making an entity like a pair of jump boots and picking them
up. would activate a script to change the player start marker
setings like jump height to 600 and speed 500.
assuming you are using a start marker,
is this posible.

NEWJUMPHEIGHT=X - change the default jump height of the player to X (default 50)

Player speed cannot currently be changed in vanilla FSPC but can be in several mods.

You can't change the start marker, just the default settings.

Making two levels will not help. This website might help you find alternate paths to your solution

You could try using global variables to indicate that you have picked up the boots.
