I had that "atls.lib" error before.

I had to completley remove MSVC9 and then re-install it, fixed the issue for me. But I think you might need to remove DarkGDK and the DirectX August 2007 SDK as well.

na , i fixed it by
creating a new project
and copy all the lines i needed from the one that gave me the problems.

i forgot to say it was solved.
