Hello everyone. As per request from Gijs I'm going to be doing a tutorial on how to rig sleeves to an EAI gun with hands.

Requirements:
FPS Creator
Milkshape3D http://chumbalum.swissquake.ch/
Basic knowledge of MS3D manipulation, refer to the FPSC community guide http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=131868&b=21
Fragmotion http://www.fragmosoft.com/
My sleeve model and texture, added at end of post

Okay, first you'll want to whip open Fragmotion and import the EAI gun of your choice. Go to File>Import and navigate to C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\gamecore\guns\ and find your gun. When you're in the gun's file, open HUD.x. Then export as an MS3D file.

Next open Milkshape and open the file you just exported. Select the entire arm/s except the hands and delete it.

Next import the .obj included in this post and scale/move it so that it joins the remaining hand/s.

Next part may be tricky. Select the left sleeve as a group. Then, go to joints, and assign it to EAIcopyright2007_armL. Do the same to the right arm if you are using one, except obviously you need to assign it to EAIcopyright2007_armR.

Last of all, move the sleeve texture included in this post to your gun's folder. Make a new material in Milkshape and call it whatever. You only need one. Now, in the material it will have four boxes marked 'none'. Double click and navigate to the texture in your folder. Then select the arm/s and assign the material to it.

Save the file and import the MS3D into Fragmotion again. Then export it as a .x as HUD.x. You will most definitely want to backup the original HUD.x. Then your weapon is ready. You'll also need to delete HUD.dbo, don't need to backup this as FPSC will generate them automatically if they are missing.

END RESULT

Thanks everyone. I'd greatly appreciate anyone making new textures for this or whatever, it was my first attempt at texturing any kind of fabric.

Thanks Heltor!

If you mean like armoured gauntlets? You'd need to rig each individual hand part to their corresponding bone which would be VERY difficult.

Nice job on the tutorial. It is exactly what I needed. I noticed the rigging on the offhand is messed up and the hands seem to be reversed. But I have learned quite a bit in looking at your tutorial along side the other files. Thanks a bunch!
