Newcomers DBPro Corner / Transparent textures on plains

I had a quick search, but couldn't find an answer.

I have textured a plane with an image which has magenta as the transparent value. I have then set the color key to be this color. When I texture my plane the parts which are magenta are showing as black not transparent.

How do I get them to show as transparent not black?

Are you setting the object to be transparent?
