[Mod Edit Valves Half Life Logo Removed. You cant use that here]

Hello, here's my current project an Half-Life fangame created with Fenix 1.0, first off, I DON'T own Half-Life, it's belongs to Valve LLC.

Half-Life Bad Experiment have no story, you are (again) Gordon Freeman and you must survive in Black Mesa.

I plan to make three versions of the game.

An "HQ" Version, with a normal number of enemies, a lightmap quality set to 70 and 512*512 textures.

A "Standard" Version, with a reduced number of enemies, a lightmap quality set to 60 and 256*256 textures.

A "LQ" Version, with a reduced (ie: 1 soldier instead of 2) number of enemies, a lightmap quality set to 20 and 128*128 textures.

Work in Progress:

Level 1
Level 2
Level 3
Level 4
Level 5
Level 6
Level 7
Level 8

=Finished!
=Working on.
=Almost finished.
=Not started yet!

in the third screen, place small lights all around that object. an object casting light from within does not cast a shadow of itself, at least not one that dark.

Yeah the second picture looked great. Also the ligthing seemed to be good. Half Life is a great game and I always found it exciting with fangames so I'll keep an eye on this one.

i like the screens, i just think that you should change it from a fan game and come up with your own story and character

Thanks, I've seen that thing on a mod for Half-Life called HL: Escape.

Thanks.

There will be no demo, but directly the full release of the game.

Not a bad idea... but I think it will be a tiny story, due to the lack of levels.

Looks good man,
but for some reason i dont get the half life "vibe" from it, Like i dont feel anything when i look at it, Try and give it more of a half-life like atmosphere, With improved lighting, More entities, and try looking up the black mesa blue prints, and placing entities the same, if you get what i mean?

other than that, Looking forward to your further progress

Ok mods, about the logo, i'll be more careful the next time !

I have an idea, the player character could be a Black Op (the black soldiers seen in OP4 and HL), what do you think about this ?

http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/Black_Ops

Maybe I should create a small story and mix it with the one of OP4.

OK I will try it, but for some spec reasons, I can't heavy detail my maps, because if I do this, I have very serious slowdown issues (10 FPS).

if your making a HL1 fan game than you really need vortigons or the screaming dog things. i wouldn't consider it a HL1 or 2 fangame without on of those. good work either way.

why? It has headcrabs and I suppose it also has HL zombies by bond1. Does it? And those screaming shockwave dof things aren't THAT important to even HL1s story. They weren'teven in HL2. If it has gordon, zombies, headcrabs, black mesa (and maby a crowbar) I think it's enough to call it a Half-Life fan game. MO ofcourse.

I think he just enjoys playing games - there is a distinct lack of finished ones on these boards.

Not quite. There are still over 100 Neverwinter Nights 2 community made games I haven't played yet (not even all those that use my own modded stuff). And over 50 custom Tomb Raider levels are also on my HD.

It's more about what I dislike: Endless screenshot collection threads and mouthfull announcements, that never lead to anything..

So the longer a thread runs, the more screenshots are added, the more the OP asks for C&C....the more intense I ask for a demo

And if someone claims to have finished a level I want to see it.
Because if its to boring to show, its NOT finished yet.
And if its still full of bugs, it's NOT finished yet.
And if there are still the right weapons and character models needed....and so on and so on

But that are just general thoughts

This thread is still young and it could live up to the expectations triggered by the 1st post

I've changed my computer 1 month ago, and I think I will start a Deus Ex inspired project.

Please apologize my bad english, I'm French.
