1024 Polygons.

It looks pretty neat when you smooth it too (4472 Polygons):

That really doesn't look 1k polys, it looks like it should be less. And for crying out loud, please stop using mesh smoother on the whole model, it's a complete waste on areas that don't need it, a.k.a. the fins, some of the gears, hell the whole model looks pretty decent with out quadrupling the poly count.

I know mesh smoother is a waste of time, but I liked the way it looked when it was smoothed, that I saved it as a different model so the original would stay the way that it is.

Hmm...

The leg motor isnt back far enough (the BowCannons leg motor is mounted on its back, close to its generator so its the first part of it to get any power.)

The Heavy Laser's shouldnt have any holes completely through them, thats why mine dont. It's a laser, it needs something to force it from behind.

No offense, but the cockpit looks like a duck billed platipus.

The Jump Jets and the Fleet Jets (Jump launch it into the air, fleet propel it forward) are just not right. I cant even see the Jump Jets actually.

Heres a pic of it's back:

As you can compare from the two models, the stabalizers are also too thin. They were meant bulky as too add more power to stabalization when it would brake from a fleet jet launch, or land from a jump jet launch, not to mention 50 tons running at 80 MPH isnt safe without something to keep it up.

Well, thats all I could really find in comparision of our models. If you werent trying to make your own BowCannon model, and just make your own, it looks great.

Haha, hold your horses, Omega. I wasn't trying to show off a better model, so no need to compare the two. I'm showing this model because I think it looks pretty cool in DeleD and wanted to show people a model like that can be build in DeleD. Besides that, the Solid mode in DeleD has only just been build. I think it can be improved (that Solid mode i mean) so it will show the model more accurately.

Probably the best thing to do, dave. Btw, what modeller did you use to build that model, Omega?

Considering his has half the polys of Omega's, I considerd it a draw.

I used Wings3D to model it.

hi omega
thanks for the rear pic

changed fleet jets

added jump jets

closed The Heavy Laser's holes

made the stabalizers more bulky

down to 447 polys

(the cockpit still looks like a duck billed platipus)

i dont think i could have built it from scrach it easy when you've
got a example to follow

Gee Omega, you really want to "win" this one eh?

Anyway, when you talk about polygons, do you mean triangles or also multisided polygons? The answer might explain the difference in polycount. Granada's model uses multisided polygons.

You're working with wings3d. Does that modeller work with triangles? It seems to render multisided polygons (or at least 4 sided) but maybe it stores the model as triangles? Not sure either...
