Hi all, I haven't been on here in a long time. I have a treat for you! A river using the metro theater stairwater effect! It uses a custom normalmap and the essential files (not including the effect) will be posted ASAP. Meanwhile, enjoy this screenshot!

maybe it's possible to make the ''waves'' smaller in the .fx?

Allright guys, here's the download. Now take note, you can make the waves move slower by rducing the scale in the fpe, but this will also reduce the normalmap size drastically. Also, you can make realistic colored water by placing a STATIC surface under it of the color of your choice. If you have the Metro theater pack, then just unpack all the files and place in the entity workshop folder and use for any large surface of water! Thanks for your comments and It's good to be back!

Thank you all for the support! Since everyone liked this one so much, I'll post accessories for the effect (new normals and colored surfaces) for all you guys! I won't be putting any limitations on the media as everyone has been waiting for this and I feel extremely generous. Also, thank you Marc steene for attempting to grab attention for this media, but it appears that your thred has been locked lol

Allright guys I've got something interesting to show you. if you put the colored surface directly under the water, the static objects will actually cast realistic shadows on the water which makes it like the water from halo 3.
Example photo below. I will pack the surface I colored and post it ASAP.

Just unpack these files and put them in your entity workshop file and they'll work perfectly. For testing, place them right under the face of the watersurface and you should get the effect show in my last post. This model does not require the water effect for those who have somehow conjured up their own.

This is a much less harsh normal to create a more smooth waterflow. Just save this as the normal for your water and It should work.

2 Rogues - this is very interesting could this be scripted so the water area rises or falls?

What happens when the player falls into it?

Great stuff though

Why not? He had a relevant question about the content in this thread. It wouldn't have made much sense for him to start a new thread just to ask a question about the content in this one, when this one is still open

If it wasn't bumped, I wouldn't have seen it. If threads are still opened (not automatically locked because their too old) I think threads can be bumped up if they are still relevant or if someone has a question. I bump my thread up once in awhile.

Oops, I forgot to add. Thanks 2 Rogues

You're welcome, as for the month old thing, I don't really care. You can not do the rising or falling unless in the editor. Thoough, you can animate it so it cues the rising action at a certain trigger.
