Hey guys, this is my first tutorial so stay with me. Today I will be showing users how to use T.ED (Terrain editor) and get it working on FPSC x10 and x9. I have attached a .rar with pictures for reference.

Lets begin, first you are going to need a neat little application called Entity work shop V2 found here

Download this program and run it, find the FPSC x10 directory. Keep this program open we are going to need it. So now for the fun stuff. Open T.ED and build your terrain to however you like it. I would recommend only using the default as you can resize it later and you can't have it to big.

Good, your terrain is done, and textured. Now go to file and "Export Terrain" as in pic one. Make sure to select the .x option (look at pic 2 for details) Your screen should look like mine. Now export it will ask you to save it and the image. Navigate to your desktop and do it there (I find it easy to do this)

Now you will see several files. A .x file and a texture file. Open EWv2 and go to import non-ready file. Nav to where you saved the terrain, open it up. Should look like my screen shots with the grey texture. Now look for the little paint roller (this is the texture button) find the texture you saved with it (or any texture you want to apply) and click on it. Walaa now its on your terran. Go to "save" and type in a name press "polygon collision" it will now save to your FPSC x10 entity files under "Entity work shop. Locate the folder and open it.

You will see your terrain and a pre-configured .fpe Delete everything in that.FPE and use this

Change the names of the texture and stuff of coarse to your files. And save. You are done. Have fun!

Not sure... T.ED works for me when it comes to multi-player, it has problems with AI. You can use a modeling program to make a terrain piece I suppose, but your still going to have problems with AI.

I have been popping in and out posting and such, I have been busy with work. I am just waiting for a new beta of mystic to come in so I can start helping with the bugs and other people.

Aah, alright. I'd like to see a new beta also personally. *hint,
hint*

But I know how hard this feature is going to be.

It was one of those dreams, where you wake up and want food so badly you end up falling down the stairs landing flat on your face and looking like an idiot.

Or is that just me?

On a more sensible note the update is coming along well but is taking a while as those of you that know what it is can expect.

Also awesome job on the terrain stuff it is a shame about the AI collision issues but hey what do you expect for FPSC you take one step forward and get knocked right back by a bug (which then eventually bows down to the might of the unbreakable X10 community).
