if i remember correctly, you said you used 3DS to make the landscape... right? you know if you could make the tiles like you said, then assign different materials to the polygons? i know this IS possible in 3DS, but dont know how it would work exporting to .x for DBP

by any chance, is this how you did it, or did you have a better approach?

When I first saw the Borg in Star Trek Generations I figured that they had got the design perfect, and very original. Now that I've seen your new robots I feel the same way. They are very stylistic! Amazing looking models, and I like the energy bar too! I like everything! I think that Simple is suggesting that the arms will not bend properly, he could be right.

That can be fixed easily. I'll work on it when I feel like it but now I'm still working on the animations =)

I'm not sure if she's going to appear in the game but I wanted to post this to get some C&C's. Her face is not ready yet but it's getting close. Make some suggestions if you notice something, she's supposed to be asian woman

Hair is still missing.

She wont appear in the game with that amount of polies in the face. Nadia shouldnt be so many polies either. Your relying too much on the mesh, and not at all on the texture. If you had a great texture, you could have the same visual pleasure if Nadia was around 4000 polies.

This model has already 60 000 polygons so of course it's not suited for ingame but for the cutscenes it could be useful. Of course if she appeared ingame I would make low polygon version of the model.

"I'm not sure if she's going to appear in the game" with this I mostly meant if the character is going to appear on the game at all or if I just did this as separate modelling project. Maybe I should have started new thread ..

Anyway with C&C : s I was looking for modelling C&C, facial mistakes, what's done nicely & what's not done so nicely.

Spent about 8 hours on her by now. I could probably spend rest of my natural life tweaking the face but approx 2 hours more will be enough for me and then I'll move onto the hair and body.
When the complete body model is finished I naturally do unwrapping & texturing and leave the skinning for last.

I'll keep posting new versions as I work on it.

From this angel the nose doesn't look like it points out out from the head, it looks like is shoots straight down. Also the lips look a little off. I sudest you grab a mirror and view your self to get a better idea of how these things should look.

I'm not good at modelling, but the mech honestly looks a little squat. Perhaps, a little height will make it look better, or make it slimmer.

Sorry that I show new renders so often even when only little has been done Added "lip texture" just to show the shape of the lips and done a lot of tweaking to the cheeks.

Hopefully these models will only appear in the video sequences of the game, which leads me directly to the question, how will your ingame models be looking like?

I think that these models won't appear even in the cutscenes, just posting them for the 3D fanatics hanging around in 3D chat forums

Quote: "how will your ingame models be looking like?"

No idea at the moment, we'll see what I can come up with. The lacking features of DarkBasic Pro often prevents many ways how to make models look good, no support for opacity maps, specular level maps, specular color maps and so on. These would help a great deal with creating good looking characters & environments.

Of course these features could be created by making our own shaders into the game but then again if our programmers could do that then we would be making the complete game in C++ and not with dbp

The game itself have been postponed for month & ½ by now but we are continuing when the holidays start.

Heh, when I told you to add another sink to the left of the first, I thought you got the idea to attach the two. Then it wouldnt seem so out of place. Otherwise, very very good.

Cheers,
Preston

Heh the oven explodeing would be cool...

On the kitchen pic i think the corner sink should be taken out and put like a coffee pot or something there

The asian ladys eyebrows look like they were done with a ink pen ontop of that jpg (need to come outward and curve) and the head is eggshaped (needs to be more rounded)

I haven't been by in a while but, thats all I got
