Newcomers DBPro Corner / Clearing Text

I have seen a way to clear text on a screen, Without using cls to clear the screen. Can someone shed some light on this please, As i could not find it in the post again. Thank you!

You'll have to make your own text system with arrays to hold the data etc.

if you have any 3d objects, or sprites on screen, then the screen clears every frame, and text needs re-drawing to stay on the screen.

hey thanks for the replys its just standard text in the middle of the screen



but it stays in the middle of the screen and does not clear after i hit the "R" button

I'd say that it'd be easier to 'erase' the text if you knew what it's contents were rather than filling the entire area with dots, just set your ink to your background and write the text again in the exact same place.

ink rgb(0, 0, 0), 0
box 500, 200, 700, 400

yeah it is .. but who knows (or knew) the area in question .. but you could draw lots of boxes .. ok ignore me greendixy ..

I'm guessing you aren't using SYNC ON. With Sync off, it will stay there until you issue a CLS command.

try using backdrop on.

I use the method of HowDo!It`s very good!Try to write and then clear the text with backspace.
