First of, I'm completely new for developing any sort of an video game, so I want to make sure I'm making everything right.

Here's the question:

I'm about to buy Model Pack #10, and some others as well through TGC website...
I'm planning on releasing a game, both, commercially and as a free download.

If I buy Model Pack, do I need to pay for specific weapon manufacturer for a weapon license, or anything like that, so that I can use it in a commercial way?

Also, in a commercial game: Can I use real weapon names or should I use such as "Pistol", "Shotgun", "SMG", "Assault Rifle", "Sniper", etc., just in case?
...or do I still need to pay for some license to use the models at all?

Someone correct me if im wrong, but I dont think there is any licensing fee that you have to pay, since TGC is already selling the guns with the names...

Ak47 is a nonspecific name, it could be anything. But Avtomat Kalashnikova 47 (if thats the right name) would the same as having a coca cola can in the game.

M16 is as well a nonspecific name, but Colt M16 would be copyright.

It all depends on the weapon, a weapon with no "shortnumber" like Mossberg, Colt Python etc would be more difficult.

But I also believe that most gunmanufactors enjoys seeing their weapon in a game (insert your own awkvard idea here)

Send them an e-mail (the manufacteurs)

You may want to reword that sentence, at the moment it reads kind of offensively.

You can go like 'MP5' or 'Desert Eagle' but not Heckler and Koch MP5 or Israeli Military Industries Desert Eagle.
