first off, im a newb. Dont know much about programming besides my Java and modding the torque engine.

Im writing a very simple program to see what DBPro can do, and to help me learn. The full source is below.

The object "Thing"(2) is moving in a big circle instead of spinning on its axis. But if i take out "Thing" and just use a 'make object cube' it works fine.

Im realy stumped here!

i think your object .x isn't centered or indexed to 0,0,0 (x,y,z) in the .x format
so your model is off

i have the same problem when i use wings3d

My advice is free -
unfortunately you get what you pay for (-:

uhh.. what? :p

Im using 3DCanvasPro to make the model and export it to a .X
The exporter doesnt have any options, it just exports. So would i have to place the object on 0,0,0 in 3Dc before i export? hmm.. ill go try

hey! it worked! lol
thanks zzabb!

wow, thats strange. Its been 3 years of seriously learning computer shtuff, and the more i learn the dumber i get

I Looked through the .X file to see if there was a way to just change the coordinates, but it looks like i would have to edit each of the 20billion lines?

in most 3d packages theres a reference widget that shows the center point of the worlds ground zero.

if u want canvas to make it in the center of the default workspace.

goto tools /options then in the Grid parameters set the X and Z to both -5

It's already tomorrow in Australia
