I m not really sure this is the right section for this question but nevermind...
I was thinking of making a game inspired by the 70s grindhouse movies.
I think it would really help the atmosphere of the game if I could somehow make the screen look like a old film (or destroyed film tape)

Is there any way to do that?

You can use HUDs for an animated grain effect.

You might be able to make a shader for the light brown effect, but that needs Project Blue

Film grain would be more efficiently done with proper HUDs, and it would likely run much faster if you did it that way instead of using a full screen shader. but I guess that all depend son how complicated you make the grain, and thus the resulting shader.
