is it possible to encrypt/decrypt base64 with db?

if so can you point me in the right direction...

sure, the same way you would convert base 10 to base 2 or base 8 or 16

ok sure...i am familiar with converting between different bases on paper and in my head....but what commands and types would i use....

what i am trying to do is encrypt a file to use as a database file with user names and passwords.....so about how would i go about encrypting string text....do i use the ascii value of the text?

i use the asc values
and i know this isn't scientific but since no one will know the way you file/catalog your data, the way you write into the file and read out of the file, a simple math formula for each data type should work
+ - * / if you alternate with each data type it would be nearly impossible to decode especially if you saved it in memblocks

just a suggestion
