Hey guys and girls,
I am currently in the the progress of making a nature/outdoors segment pack for use in FPSC.

The pack will contain from 36 to around 65 floor segments.

I have all the textures, I just have to finish editing them and building them in Firma.

All of the textures are photographs, which are all taken by me.

Please comment, the whole pack will be complete in a week or so.

Screen 1: Attatched.

See next two posts for more pics.

Looks great.

Now I know you have two different segments in each screen. However, I hope you focus on making the same segment as seamless as possible.

I don't know if it can ever be possible (well, just about anything is possible with a lot of work and time) but I haven't actually seen -- I guess except for rolfy's new skypacks -- to have a large area that doesn't look like it is a repetition of the same 100 x 100 unit segment. I have tried rotating segments around in a random way but that normally always destroys the seamless nature of the segment.

Just some thoughts.

The segments look good.

Thanks guys =)

Thanks for the suggestions Flatlander, of course every segment will be seamless =D

Please keep in mind that I am using a 4.0 megapixel camera, so the quality isn't the best, but I reckon they look pretty cool =]

Oh I forgot to say, this pack will be free =]

Hey everyone, Nilloc and I have decided to combine packs, his 500 segment pack and my Nature Pack will now be combined to make a 600 segment pack. Here is the link for Nilloc's official thread: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=172199&b=24

I will still be posting pictures of my segments, but on that thread, so comment there please =)

I will also be realeasing a pack of 10 segments, as a " teaser " for the mega pack

Thanks,
Jared

If you want to increase quality, take the seemless texture tile it into by 2, then sharpen it and go with a very slight cartoon, with the first slider all the way up and the last slider at 0.010 see if u like it. (Done in gimp)

Also shrink the texture down to either 2048X2048 1024X1024 or 512X512, i don't recomend the 512X512, but it makes it smaller...
