Thanks, this I did in a few minutes to show how editing a normal map image/file can create a more complex look for walls.
Granted,I pushed the map a little over...but just an example.

I did the normal map in GIMP and edited that in Paint.net (both freeware).
I edit in paint...quicker for me.
Yes you can edit a normal map and not use the full 512x512 or whatever size.

Right now I'm building more tests with many layers for separate parts of the
full normal map image.

Tip: use magic wand to select parts of the image to only normalmap them only
like scratches on painted metal.

Bagder would you like to work with me on my 500 segment pack? I need someone who can apply normal maps and things like that easyily and you seem to be able to. I can make the normal maps ect but I have trobel putting them on.

That's just because of the low lightmap quality.
