FPSC Classic Scripts / how does raycasting work

I get the general principal behind how raycasting works it sends something forward or at which ever angle you set and when it hits something then run command u asked but what i dont get is what is the length you set it to such as 80 does that meen it will go 2 fpsx9 segment blooks forward before it hits sum or what can some1 please go into more detail on how this command works

The distance for the raycast in segments is as follows:
100 = 1 segment length

So a value of 50 would be half of a segment in length.

And just as you said, when teh raycast hit something it will return TRUE and run the commands asked.
