Hey everyone,

I've noticed that in alot of mainstream games that when you start the game up there are animated splash screens and I've always wondered how one would go about making one. So I've decided to turn to you guys/girls and ask how would you recommend making one of those animated splash screens.

Heres a video to show you what I mean.

You just play it as an animation. I started it at -20 width and +5 width because there was a slight black area on the left and right sides of the animation. The file is attached.

that ubi intro could be done within dbpro itself. ie, the camera traveling through a pipe-like 3-d object with lighting/effects and a 2d logo slapped on at the end. if you need it to be an animation, you could record it with video capture software, add the short tune, and play it as suggested.

i've done something similar where i set up "shimmering rings of light" (3d planes) within a space sphere and had the camera travel through the scattered rings, grabbing screen shots every 1/30th second for a minute or so (all timer-based, checking if file exist(ShotNum), etc, for smooth movement/animation). i then dumped all the shots into windows movie maker, added stock DBPro ambient music, and the end result was kinda nice. of course, it was a test, done the hard way, but it worked

add: hey, what do you know... a quick glance at my old hard drive retrieval and i found some test footage from the above project. no sound, but you'll get the idea. this was a png texture on planes, in a space sphere.

You could do something simple, like the Bethesda Logo, or the 3DO logo.

Couldn't find the Bethesda one on youtube, but here is the 3DO one:

@Virtual Nomad

I like the way you did that. I might try something along those lines and see how it works out for me.

@Nackidno

The 3DO's logo is pretty catchy and I like how simple it is all it needs is a little color and camera magic...
