Blender takes a bit of getting used to, while milkshape is a lot mor user friendly. Overall though, I recommend blender ( cause it's free lol)

Try wings 3d better than MS3D, easier than blender and free.

Blender. Of course, just about any modeling program will suffice, granted; you have the experience to use it. But by comparison of software capabilities, productiveness, and value, Blender wins, handsdown.

Whatever program gives you the least sleepless nights and makes you the most productive, no matter the price.

A free car you cannot drive is a useless car. Also flash car with all the bells and whistles that your too scared to drive is a useless car.

No one here can tell you what program is best suited to you, only you can do that.

Try all the programs, I have, I found that Anim8or was the most user friendly to me, and thats why I use it.

I seriously wouldn't advise using anim8tor from most points-of-view. Its not really suitable for serious game moddeling.

Go for one of the free programs, My suggestion is don't buy a professional program like 3ds max, and don't think the 30-day trial is sufficient time to choose whether you ant to. The best way to know if you should get these programs is to get a lot of experience in it first, how you do that, is a problem which I'm sure is causing autodesk some sales problems whilst there are all those free alternatives

I can seriously vouch for blender, why not check this out

now I know somebody will shout at me If I don't say this, so don't get your hopes up about making anything that good any time soon, especially in FPSC, it's impossible

My best advice is give them all a good try and see what methods you prefer. Blender and wings are definitely more powerful but like the control I have with Milkshape3d. Use the one that just feels right to you. As long as the end result is what you want and it didn't feel like a chore to get it, then that is the modeling program for you.
