I know the basics, how to skin a certain object. But there are two things I'd like to know:
1. How can I tile the texture, instead of having the texture size conform to the size of the face? Long walls have the textures stretched out while short walls have the textures compacted.

2. How do I select a certain area from a skin to apply to a object? So that I can have one skin instead of 6?

Thanks

3. Is there a way to snap to grid in only one window?
4. How can I make the grid smaller?

Use a tool like UVmapper. Their tutorial is excellent, it will get you up and running in no time. Oh, and it's free
