Seriously, I think that I'm the only modeler left on these boards without his own licensed copy of 3D Studio Max. Either I'm living in the poor house all alone or there was a buy one get ten free offer on the forums that I wasn't aware of...

No, you're not but that's a polite way of saying it.

That my friend, is the 64,000 dollar question. And all for FPS Creator. It's kind of like putting 6000.00 worth of wheels on a 500.00 car.

my first copy of max (max 8) cost my company a few grand but my 2009 copy was just £150 from ebay (full & unregistered)so you can get it at a good price.that said it took me a year of looking before it came up.but yeh it is strange how so many people on here have the latest versions of max

cheers henry

If anyone's interested, I think Autodesk is still doing zero percent financing for a little longer. AT work we're on subscriptions. We pay like a $1000 (give or take) a year and always get the newest version the day they're released. Also watch what program you buy. For example AutoCAD LT cost $1200. Buy if you buy Inventor LT for $1200 you also get AutoCAD LT with it. 2 programs for the price of one.
