Steps to making a Prefab:

1. Create your structure using segments only. No entities. You can make up to 5 layers deep. For example, I'm using the WW2 Storage area Full room, but only on one layer.

2. Move your cursor to the topmost part of your structure and press E. Then left-mouse click to highlight the entire structure.

3. Press CTRL+C, then press CTRL+J

4. Save prefab dialog box opens up. Give your prefab a name.

5. You can then move around to get a snapshot of your prefab. Use the mouse and your W,S,A,D to position. When ready, left mouse-click.

Your prefab is now saved. When you go into your Prefabs section, you should see the one you made listed.

@ Blackfox

That was a nice explanation.
I made prefabs for my streetpack and for each level of the first game I built in FPSC, but it had been so long ago I had to think hard about.
Back then I just followed the instructions from the manual.

This was a very nice illustrated step by step refresher.

Thanks

No problem. Making step-by-step manuals is something we enjoy and do a lot of. Figured the screens would definitely help as well.

It is quite handy to make a prefab, particularly if you are using it in various levels. We got the idea to make our own prefabs after buying your streetpack, CE, as it saves so much time in designing.

Glad it was of use to everyone.

It actually tells you step-by-step in the manual that comes with FPSC, just take a look in there.

Yes it does. Sometimes visual aids are helpful for some.
