Gun Camouflage Pack

By Le Shorte

Hello guys, weeks ago I started a thread announcing a soon-to-be-released camouflage pack for guns and I even made a few for clothes! The pack is now released (includes twenty-two separate camouflages) and is on sale for only $1.50! Purchasers will get free updates. All camouflages are 1024x1024 high-quality textures. 1024x1024 is the size of your average gun texture, so no stretching!

You can also buy single camouflages for only $0.15 a piece, just say which camouflage in this thread, send $0.15 to [email protected] on PayPal, and I'll send you the camouflage.

Taking requests!

You may request one camouflage. You will receive that camouflage free of charge. If anyone else wishes to get the camouflage, you must purchase the pack.

Screenshots

Camouflages included:
Snowland- 1 and 2
Woodland- Gun and Clothes
Black and White Urban- 2 gun variations and clothes
Red Tiger Gun
Blue Tiger Gun
Yellow Lightning Gun
White Lightning gun
Concrete Gun
Slime Waves Gun
Desert Gun
Wooden Gun
Stained Wood Gun
Rust- 2 variations
Blue and White Urban- Clothes and Gun
Tiger- Gun
Black and Red Urban- Clothes and Gun
Chrome/Black- Gun

Tutorial for Applying Camouflages

1. Get your desired camouflage and gun textures opened in editing program of your choice (I prefer Paint.net and Gimp 2.6)

2. Copy and Paste the Camouflage onto the Gun Texture (Add a layer)

3. Adjust Opacity

4. Save (Remember To Backup all original files!)

5. Enjoy your Camouflaged gun!

I reject your stereotype of Wisconsin and, in fact, live in a city.

Look shorte,I love your enthusiasm but charging 3$ for something someone can do with beginner Photoshop or Gimp skill in a matter of minutes is asking to much in may opinion.
I mean your basically just selling a camo texture that you can easily get of Google Images for free and apply it the same way you instructed.

if you have like 50 different textures than you can start charging a good amount (doesn't have to be quite 50 though)

@ Zay
I appreciate your feedback, but I really don't think 14.3 cents is too much per texture. If people on this forum would understand how well they have it, that would be a miracle. In the real world of game design, no matter the quality, you pay the person $50 upfront for one texture, and extra for the revision if it's needed. I knew someone would say that $3 is too much for 21 textures. I never said it wasn't easy to make on your own. I never said "Z0MG I WURKDE SOOOOO H4RD ON TIHS!!! PLZZZ BUYYY NWO!" Really, if you want to get into game design, be prepared to start paying $100+ for 20 textures. It's not a flea-market. It's direct-from-manufacturer custom everything in the real world. This pack has no restrictions, anything on Google images you find is subject to copyright infringement.

@ EGG HEAD OF DOOM
$3 is a good amount for 21 textures which I've spent a good amount of time making in my opinion.

Still, it's just using the Cloud filter and colouring it up a bit...

lol. I see everyone's point however, it would be smart maybe to charge so much for 20 textures. I mean textures the people want. Or have a selection of sorts of textures and say for ten textures they pay 1.50 or so. lol just a thought.

signatures are dumb.....

Yes, that is true. Updates are free for all purchasers. Prices may go up every 10 camos or so, but purchasers will receive all of those with no additional charge.

Well just mess something with brushes and different colours and apply it to texture. Not hard. Do you have EAI permission to use these.

@ Vortex Games
I never said it was the most difficult thing in the world. I never said you needed to buy this. Your post isn't even constructive criticism. I do so believe the rules say you have to post constructive posts. "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything."

Why would I need EAI's permission to use them to advertise? I bought the model packs, shouldn't I be able to use them as advertisements? They are for commercial use also.

Wrong, he is applying the camo over the texture. You have to do it yourself

Good work Le Shorte, I like the method of giving away 1 free camo then adding it to the pack

It would be aesier to ask EAI permission and release already done textures.

Why would he want to do that? With this method, the customer can use the texture on ANY gun s/he wants, and also adjust the transparency and other settings to his/her liking. And also, EAI would never agree to releasing the textures.

That would require redistribution of the weapon textures, you'd need a full shader system with I, D, N, and D2 textures. So unfortunately, I can't put that in the pack :/

I'll try the others, though.

???

What is an artist? What defines an artist?

Merriam Webster's defines it as:

artist (n.): one who professes and practices an imaginative art

An artist is not defined by their creations being published heavily, but by the fact that they create.

Why don't you get a little respect for others, then you can give him constructive criticism, instead of just saying he's not an artist.

I mean honestly, do you have anything better to do?

So? I dont see what the big fuss is about. He made some art or texture whatever you want to call it, Why are you worrying because he said Artist Block? He made art so that would make him an artist. Its not like he said the camos should be in a displayed in a museum....

Cool stuff man I had the same idea a year ago, one suggestion though, photoshop's layer blending modes are perfect for camouflage as it can produce much better blending affects than mere opacity subtractions.
