Hi all,
I recently purchased DB Pro from TGC's website, and when I try to install it, a certain file (PlasmaDemo.exe) was classified as a Trojan from Mcafee and removed. I (hope) the Trojan report was some sort of mix-up. I am also getting an error report saying access to PlasmaDemo.exe was "denied (0x5)".

I seriously hope I didn't waste $70.00 If I did, I'm dead.

You didn't waste 70 bucks. PlasmaDemo.exe is one file that is just an example on what Darkbasic Pro can do. You can make a new PlasmaDemo.exe by going running Darkbasic Pro, loading up PlasmaDemo.dbpro, and running it.

By the way I love playing Zork too (it's where I got Grueslayer from).

Hi again,
I have another question (I didn't want to start a new topic and take up space). Once I ingnored the PlasmaDemo.exe and installed it, the icon on my desktop to launch DB Pro did not work. I went into the files and found the editor. If I open that, it will take me to the editor and I can (as far as I know) make programs without problems. Are there any drawbacks to using the editor link to open DB Pro, or is that normal?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm not good at installing stuff.

Na, it doesn't matter if you run the editors .exe file directly or via a link. If you want to make it easier you can hit the right mouse button on the editors file and click on Create Shortcut. Then drag the newly created shortcut (same icon but with an arrow on it) onto your desktop or into your start menu.

In the Editor directory there are 3 different editors. "Editor" was the first one made, "EditorU73" was next, and the newest and probably best to use is "EditorNew".

Hmm, how did the shortcut not work? It's fine going through the programs list but much easier to have the shortcut working. Make sure you right click it and enable the run as administrator option. It can cause problems on vista and windows 7. Oh and if you are willing to work hard, you will get great results from DB.

Awesome! The run as adminsistator option worked and I can now open it from the shortcut. Thanks so much both of you who helped me.
